‘I thought you had to spend at least 10 grand on a hot tub?’
Nowadays you don’t need to spend 10 grand to get a great quality hot tub. Streamlined manufacturing processes and direct, bulk, purchasing changes have allowed many hot tub dealers to sell their quality tubs for less. ‘Which is better? A steel or a resin above ground pool?’
They both have pros and cons. We still have steel pools standing from when we first started installing! If you take care of your pool, it will last. A steel pool can require more maintenance as it is more prone to corrosion issues. Resin pools do cost more than steel but they tend to have much better warranties. Resin pools can be salt compatible for those wishing to have salt generators on their pools. Really you need to choose the pool that best suits your needs. We only carry top of the line pools here at SPAS.
‘What mil are your above ground pool liners. I heard that I need a 20mil liner’
You’ll be hard pressed to find an above ground pool liner that is legitimately 20mil. We contacted the liner manufacturers of some of our competition. And not one of them could say that they sold 20mil as their standard above ground pool liner.
There was an expose in Quebec where they purchased liners from various pool stores. They specifically asked them what mil they were. Many of the pool stores misrepresented the truth and stated that they were 20 mil when they obviously were not. We think it is really important to ensure you get accurate information here. We do not sell our liners by mil, but by weight which is a more common industry standard. We also have liner samples here which you can feel and see the quality for yourself. Our gorgeous, Canadian-made pool liners also have great warranties and come in fabulous patterns. When looking for a liner you want to make sure you have strong seams, proper coatings and a good warranty.
‘Will you be at the Halifax Spa Expo this year?’
Nope! Definitely not. That’s just a traveling sales show which tends to feature various brands of one specific American hot tub manufacturer. It does not feature a variety of local hot tub dealers. This is a fairly high pressure sales type of show where the hot tub ‘brands’ are sold ‘against’ each other. We will however see you at the Spring Ideal Home Show! But know you can always drop by our store for a wonderful deal with safe, local service. And we are proud to say we don’t need to pressure you to buy a hot tub. Our reputation and high quality products speak for themselves.
‘Do I still need chemicals if I have a salt water pool?’
A ‘salt water’ pool generally refers to a pool with a salt generator. The salt generator merely produces chlorine from NaCl (Sodium chloride) Since it only produces chlorine you still need all of your other balancing chemicals. Some people 
love the feeling a the salt water swimming pools. The salinity requires for a salt generator is less than the salinity of a tear. So you actually shouldn’t be able to taste the salt. If you are really looking for ease of maintenance for your swimming pool we recommend our eco friendly system instead. This way you can use very, very little chlorine and have an easily balanced pool.
‘Another company sells their hot tub covers for more. They must be better, right?’
Well, you don’t always get what you pay for! Have a look at the specs for the covers you are comparing. You want a nice thick cover with a great insulation rating. You want to look for a proper warranty and a company that stands by their product. It is nice to deal with a local dealer in case you ever do have any issues down the road. Shipping a hot tub cover back to an online company can be so pricey! Bottom line, we work really hard to reduce our prices- because you deserve it.
